Basement Flooring - LVP is the TOP CHOICE

Like anything else, you have to understand the quality of what you are buying. There are wear layers and material to consider and I recommend going to a flooring store to get some up-to-date information & details to get you started. After you have your basic information, the options are endless. So many different styles, textures & colors, there is sure to be a perfect fit for your home.

Waterproof Laminate - Similar to LVP costs and function

Here are a few things to know when you're considering new LVP flooring:

1 - It's waterproof up to the edges only. If you spill water under the baseboards, it will still seep under.

2 - LVP can be installed over most solid floors, such as tile, hardwood, sheet vinyl, Laminate, etc.

3 - LVP will not hide imperfections in your current floors. It may actually highlight dips as it's usually a pliable material that will flex when you walk on it.

4 - LVP is a floating floor, that means you might feel some movement/flex under your feet in some areas, which is normal and unless significant, will not impact the wear of the material.

5 - Although there are LVPs that make a stair tread, in my experience, just isn't a great option (yet!) for staircases.
